Macoupin County Illinois
This indenture made and entered into this 19th day of May 1836
between Harmon Jackson Akes of Mcoupin County and State of
Illinois of
the first part and Isaac Greathouse of the same county and
Benjamin F.
Edwards of Madison Co. & State aforesaid of the second part
witneseth that the said party of the first part for and in
consideration of the sum of $125 cash in hand paid & the
receipt of
which is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained & sold
and by these presents doth grant, bargain sell and convey
unto
the parties of the second part certain tract piece or parcel of
land it
being the North West quarter of the quarter of Section

10
Township
# 10 North of Range # 6 west of the third
principal meridian, containing forty acres more or less with the
appavidensinces and improvements and the said party of the
first
part receives one acre to be laid off so as to include his
father’s
grave for a grave yard & for no other. And the
said party of
the first part hereby consents and agrees to and with the parties
of
the second part to warrant & forever defend the title to said
above
mentioned land against the claim or claims of all person or
persons
whatever.
