Harrison S. also may be found as Samuel POINDEXTER or perhaps even initials H.S. POINDEXTER. There just can't be more than a couple Poindexters in Macoupin Co., so if any are found, one ought to be him! Second; 1860 Macoupin Co. for Richard Jefferson ROBINETT and wife Sarah Kate ROBINETT. POINDEXTER, ROBINETT posted by Gloria M. Atwater on Sunday, January 31, 1999
Hi There! Please, PLEASE can anyone help me? I am desperately trying to find someone with access to the 1870 Macoupin Co. census. The names I would like to locate are ROBINETT and POINDEXTER. There were 2 main Robinett families, Enoch and Mordecai. Mordecai died in 1868, but his widow, Ann Robinett, should still be there, with probably a couple kids still at home. Also 60-something Enoch ROBINETT, and grown sons from both families, one named Pleasant ROBINETT. POINDEXTER would be Stephen Harrison and/or Jane POINDEXTER, (he may have died,) and their 20-ish son George and a teenaged daughter, Florilla Alice or Flora POINDEXTER. Last, Sarah A. ROBINETT who was the widowed daughter of SH & Jane, and married a Robinett boy who died in the Civil War. Sarah might have 2 young children with her. Please can anyone look? Any Poindexter or Robinett family from 1870 Macoupin would be a treasure. We have been trying to get this family tracked down! If anyone will help, I would be ever so grateful! Thanks and best regards, Gloria Atwater
