Mar 2002 - Linda is presented a squirrel tail
and picture of the courthouse at the annual
Macoupin County Historical Society meeting.
A squirrel had played havoc in the archives leading to the
presentation of the engraved plaque with the tail.

John Scroggins, from Maryland, researches family in Macoupin County.
John is a former National Archives employee. He came to the archives in 2002
and gave us advice on how to lessen the expense of our dreams of
binding the old ledgers. He told us to get archival made boxes.
Whatta guy! Thanks, John.

He also suggested other helpful ideas for the county archives.



Oct 2003 - One of the old ledgers.

In 2003, a plea went out for donations to buy storage
boxes (picture left) for old ledgers. The plea was
successful thanks to the following donors
