The cemetery is about 2 mi north and l/2 mi west of Hagermon Station on Gravel road.
The cem. in a fair cond. need a few weeds cut and some of the Graves leveled. Find Plat in Large Book A on page 65.

The Bethel Church Cemetery is a new cemetery. This cemetery was laid out by the Bethel Baptist Church Congregation for the benefit of that parish in 1919. There had been some burials made in the cemetery before it was deeded for that purpose. It is under the direction of the Bethel Baptist Church.
In July, 1920, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley donated an acre of then- land to the trustees of the Bethel Baptist Church for cemetery purposes. The deed conveying the title to the land over to the trustees reads as follows: THE GRANTORS: Grover P. Shirley and Eva R. Shirley, his wife, of Barr Township, County of Macoupin and State of Illinois for and in consideration of $1.00 in hand paid, CONVEYS AND WARRANTS to Alex V. Webber, Alfred E. Hubbard and William Clark, as trustees of the Bethel Baptist Church and to their successors in office for cemetery purposes, of Western Mound Township, County of Macoupin, State of Illinois, the following described real-estate, to-wit:
Commencing 16 rods North of the SW. corner of Section 3, T. 10 N. R. 9, West of the Third Principal Meridian and running from thence North 16 rods; thence running East 10 rods; thence running South 16 rods; thence running West 10 rods to the place of beginning, situated in the County of Macoupin, in the State of Illinois hereby releasing and waiving all rights under and by virtue of the Homestead Exemption Laws of this State. (This deed is dated July 1, 1920 and was recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Macoupin County, Illinois in Volume 304 of Miscellaneous Records, at page 572 on September 18, 1920.)
On August 26, 1920 a plat was made of the Bethel Church Cemetery. The certification of the survey attached to the plat reads as follows:

We, the undersigned trustees of the Bethel Church Cemetery do hereby certify that the herein described cemetery was surveyed laid out and platted under our direction as herewith shown and that we do accept and a prove said survey and plat as our free and voluntary act. Plat Book A, Page 65

(The foregoing certification of survey and a plat of the cemetery is dated August 26, 1920 and was recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Macoupin County, Illinois in the Large Plat Book "A" of Land plats, at page 65 on November 26, 1920.)
The Bethel Church Cemtery is not incorporated at the present time.
The members of the church and friends and relatives of the deceased take car of the cemetery grounds.
The Bethel Church Cemetery is in good condition with the exception of the grass that needed cutting at the time of the field check. 30 graves have been counted in this cemetery. 2 graves need filling and 15 need leveling. The stones are all standing erect in in fine condition. The woven-wire fence which encloses this burial grounds is in good condition. This cemetery sets in back of the Bethel Church.
