LANE ETTER WIGGINS CEMETERY

 Bird Township
Macoupin County
Section 20-10-8
Illinois

SW Quarter of the SE Quarter of Sec. 20-10-8
Cemetery in Mr. Thomas Gleason's Pasture

The Macoupin County Archives has in its files, indexes/listings of many veterans buried in numerous Macoupin County cemeteries. WPA workers compiled the indexes during the Depression Era (about 1939 -1940) and among these cemetery records we found the Gleason Pasture cemetery information. The WPA workers didn't find any veterans graves in this graveyard, but did compile other interesting information. Spelling is kept "as is" in the original record.

This cem. is situated in a pasture south of Hard road No. 108 about 40 rods from the road. It is West & South about 45 rds from the White Cem. in Mr. Joe Gleason's Pasture. (Joe & Tom Gleason are Brothers). There are six graves all scattered around in a sort of a circle, slabs all flat in the Ground scattered in a kind of circle. Can't tell which is which.
