The Macoupin County Archives has the following cemetery information stored in its files. This information was gathered by workers for the WPA Project during the Depression Era, 1939 – 1940. This cemetery information was found in Box 2 of the WPA Cemetery Project. It consists of 4 pages that I compiled together. (I tried to keep the writing and spelling as it is in the WPA report). The Old Solomon Stiedley Family Cemetery is located in the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Sec. 20. Town 11. N Range 9 W in Barr Township. The land around the cemetery is owned by the trustees of the Hettick State Bank. The cemetery ¼ of a mi. east of the Asbury Mound Church Cemetery in a pasture with a very poor fence around it. The posts are broken off and the woven wire fence is in a very poor condition. Stock is running in the cemetery. Most of the stones are broken down and are broken. The cemetery has a good drainage to the north. There is no road to the cem. except across the pasture. All of the old settlers that lived around the cemetery are dead. No one has cared for it in years.
