Andrew KEISER, miller, Mt. Olive, Macoupin County, was born in Hanover, Germany, September 28, 1845; son of John H. and Gerke (HEIEN) KEISER, both natives of Germany. John H., who was a farmer, was born in 1816, and died in Macoupin County, Ill., September 6, 1855; his wife, who is now a resident of Montgomery County, was born in 1810. Our subject, who is the third of a family of six children, received his education in Germany, and has followed farming and milling since he came to this country with his parents. He has been twice married. His first wife, Annie ROSS, born in Madison County, Ill., daughter of Gird and Mary (ARKABAUER) ROSS, and died in Montgomery County September 28, 1875, leaving three children - Annie G., John and Mary. In Macoupin County, March 29, 1879, Mr. KEISER married his second wife, Frances ROSS, born in Madison County, ILL., March 9, 1855, daughter of John and Mary (ARKABAUER) ROSS. Mr. Keiser has head the office of Assessor and Collector in Walshville Township. He is a Republican in politics, and a member of the Lutheran Church.
