John KELLY, son of Thomas & Ann Kelly was born in Carlingstown, West Meath, Ireland Dec. 20, 1832 and died at his home west of Plainview, Macoupin County on Dec. 3, 1896. would like to share info with descendants of this family. His sisters; Rose married Patrick SULLIVAN; Catherine married Dennis KELLY and Mary married John STOKES. John and Mary Stokes are buried beside Ann Kelly in Old Calvary Cemetery; Carlinville. Researching the LAND, TODD families during the period 1860 through 1875 in Bunker Hill, Macoupin County Illinois. John Edward and Lucy Jane LAND came from Swarkestone, Derbyshire England in 1849. Settled in Washington County Missouri and moved to Bunker Hill. Their grandson John Edward LAND is buried in the Bunker Hill Cemetery. Robert LAND (son of John) and Louisa Jane BARTLETT daughter of William and Sarah LEADBETTER were married in Carlinville on 4/11/1861. In 1870 Census Lucy was listed as living with her daughter Ann TODD. Help in locating the burial site of John and Lucy would be most appreciated.

I am researching the surname ENGLAND. My earliest ENGLANDS are three brothers; 1. John b ca 1765 VA; 2. Joseph b ca 1766 VA; and 3. James 1. John England married Vesta Zipporah Choate. I have only three children listed to them, I'm sure they're more. Ch: Titus; Vesta b 1 Nov 1783 Montgomery Co, VA; and Joseph b 15 Jun 1791,VA. 2. Joseph b ca 1766 Va d Apr 1844 Marion Co, IL. He had more than one wife. Some say one of his wives was Nancy Burnley, another Phoebe Jones Stewart. Joseph migrated from VA to Morgan Co, Tn ca 1800 and was there until 1830. I am lookin for info on any DRENNAN'S in Macoupin co. I am specifically searching for ancestors of Riley DRENNAN and Sarah (CAMP) DRENNAN, who lived here from 1816 to 1860 then moved to CA. They had the first two children buried in this county I am told, and also had many sons, Tom DRENNAN, Frank DRENNAN, and Cal DRENNAN who I decend from. My families, the Smiths and Bullards, lived along the Ohio River in the late 1800s, in Middleport Ohio and Wheeling Wv. I have Alice Smith Bullards photo album, and in it are many photographs of people taken in the ohoto studio of George W. Dillon, Virden, Ill. I have the photo album of my greatgrandmother Alice Smith Bullard (1852-1903) and it has many photos of people taken by a photographer named George W. Dillon, of Virden, Ill. I'n sure these are relatives, but of Alice or her husband, R. J. Bullard I dont know. Alice was from Belmont County Ohio and R J was from Wheeling, WV. They lived also in Middleport and Pomero, Ohio.. any Ill "cousins" out there?

Am related to the Pruitt family who is associated with the Rev. William Jones family. However rather than settling in Macoupin County Illinois, the families settled in Madison County Illinois. Most remained in Madison County but some went to Greene County which was split into Greene and Jersey Counties Illinois. Which part of the family are you interested in?

My husband's gggrandfather was William DUNCAN b. ca. 1822 in NC. He married Sarah Elizabeth FARRAR August 23, 1847 in Macoupin Co. IL. (I believe that Sarah Elizabeth was the daughter of Green W. Farrar and his wife, Luisa, also from Macoupin Co.) From what I have learned, the families lived in the town of Clyde IL which is now Hornsby. William and Sarah were the parents of Wesley, Wlliam, James Newton, Louise and Loretta. James Newton DUNCAN was b. Dec 21, 1861, married Aug 1 1883 Mary Ursula GANEY, daughter of Michael GANEY and Catherine GUINEY in Montgomery Co. IL. I have quite a bit of information on William forward - except for the date of his death and where he died - and would gladly share with anyone who is interested. After they were married in 1822 in Daviess Co IN, we think Alexander and Lavina MCKINLEY MILLER moved to IL by 1824 where their first child Mary was born. Two more daughters (names unknown) were born to Alexander and Lavina probably in Madison Co or Macoupin Co. Alexander and Lavina s first son, Alexander W, was born in 1832 or 1933 in Macoupin Co IL. The fifth child, Charles Chapman, was born in Macoupin Co IL in 1834. The sixth child, Elizabeth, was b four years later in 1838 just north of the Macoupin Co border in Alton, Madison Co, IL.Soon after this Alexander & Lavina moved to WI for a short time and then to Jackson Co IA where Lavina d in Bellevue on 14 Feb 1871. Lost track of Alexander Sr. somewhere between IL and IA. Edward MCKINLEY, Lavina's father, shows up in Macoupin Co IL in 1830 census as head of household but he d in Jo Daviess Co IL 22 Aug 1845. Edward's younger children were b IL, James C.MCKINLEY b in 1826 and m. Caroline COLE who was b in IL and they were probably m in IL 2 Jan 1844. Edward M.Jr b 1831 in IL-all probably Macoupin Co. Any information about the McKINLEY & MILLER families in Macoupin Co appreciated-especially re: Alexander. Thank you. Eunice

Bernhart, Peter, and Jacob LORENZ lived in Carlinville from about 1860-1910. I know a lot about them but I cannot find where their siblings John Peter (b.1837), Anna (b.1815), Margaretha (b.1818), and Lucia LORENZ (b. 1821) lived. They all came from Germany in the 1860s.

Looking for information on family of Louis and Louisa ZINSER living with daughter Mary listed in 1860 census in Gillespie, Macoupin County. 1860 Macoupin County census misspells ZINSER as ZINZER. Louis was gristmiller from Prussia and wife and daughter were from Hesse, Germany. Some later family members (Ella, Emma, Louis) lived in St. Louis in the 1880s.

I am also researching the parents of Sadie May DOOLIN also of Plainview. Her parents were Mike DOOLIN and Elizabeth Ann ELDER.
