GILPIN, PRUITT, RUYLE posted by Debbi Geer on Tuesday, October 19, 1999
May have information on your Macoupin Co IL Pruitt family. I believe that Jacob and Catherine were the children of Isaac and Mary Strickly Pruitt who married in Knox Co TN abt 1808 and later moved to Madison Co IL in a part which later became Greene Co IL. Isaac and Mary had 5 children. Isaac remarried Anna Gilpin and had two more children in late years. Two of the five children by Mary are Isaac born 1810 and Katherine (spelling varies) born 1812. I have had no other information for some years but in recent months believe that based on new information they are Isaac and Mary's. I'm not sure but I believe someone else is researching these two families but will have to double check my files. If you need more information on either the Pruitt or Ruyle families, let me know..
