Angeline Caudle Banning had two daughters both who appeared to have Arnold as a last name .. I
suspect it was a middle name since that was their mother's maiden name. Bill and I are interested in
hearing from anyone from this Banning, Arnold, Caudle Connection. I am grateful to Julie Claussen (my

Searching for descendants of SAMUEL FOX. He was born 18 August 1845, in England, probably
Derbyshire. His parents were Thomas and Ann Fox (born circa 1821). In about 1860, the family left
England and settled in Plymouth Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, they bought land in the
township. Thomas died by 1870. Ann remarried between 1860 and 1870, and was widowed again. She
appears in the 1870 Census for Plymouth Township as Ann DANIELS, widow, living with her bachelor
sons David and William FOX, and her recently widowed daughter, Mary Ann PERKINS; as well as her
Perkins Grandchildren. Samuel does not appear on the 1870 Pennsylvania Census. In 1878, Samuel is
listed as a property owner in Braidwood, Reed Township, Will County, Illinois. His occupation is given
as miner. His brother David was a miner in Pennsylvania. His late brother-in-law, Henry Perkins, had
been a miner in Illinois. By 1906, Samuel settled in Virden, Macoupin County, Illinois. He died in 1919
and is buried in Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, Sangamon County, Illinois. Samuel FOX married Sarah
BAILEY. She was born 1853, in England and died 1938, in Illinois. She is burned in Auburn Cemetery.
They had at least 9 children: LAURA FOX, WILLIAM H. FOX (1874-1929, buried Auburn) married
Theresa E. (Unknown)(1885-1959, buried Auburn), had daughter Wilma Fox (1907-1975, buried

certificate places death in Virden, buried Auburn) she never married; SAMUEL FOX; CLARA FOX, may
be the daughter who married James ARCHIBALD, had daughter LaClare Archibald; and JAMES FOX. I
