Seeking descendants and info on following couple: John A. Walden (Civil War vet born c. 1840 KY) and
Elesif (1880 census) or E. E. (marriage rec) Bristow married 21 Nov 1867, Macoupin Co. They seem to
have had 2 daughters Meta A. born c. 1869 and Etta born c. 1873. John married second Mary Ann
Hallsted 7 Jan 1880. In 1870 in Virden (think heading is wrong) and 1880 in North Otter (more likely).
Anyone working on Bristow? I have Walden info. John died 1908, buried Girard City Cem.

Have ancestors who were coal miners who lived in LaSalle Co. I am researching Peter and Mary (Maria
c Lesko) Petko. I am trying to find when and where Peter may have died. He is on the 1910 Census for
LaSalle Co. Bruce Twp, 6-wd Streator, but Mary is listed as a widow on the 1920 census. I am also
trying to confirm if Mary's father is Josef Lesko and looking for descendants of their son John August
Petko, b. 11 May 1890.

I am looking for information about Mary Hoyt Stoddard Best and her ancestors and descendants. She
was a cousin of my mother's from Carlinville. My mother's handwritten family tree was sketchy and
gave no exact information about Mary's parents or even Mary, whom she referred to as "Mary Hoyt
Stoddard." I found only a Social Security Death Index listing for Mary H. Best and a reference to an
obituary I haven't been able to obtain, carried in the Springfield, IL State Journal-Register May 14,
1996. Any information about the Hoyt and Stoddard connections, plus Mary, would be much
appreciated. I'm going back to Illinois to research family in 2005 and hope to find gravestones, former
homes, etc.

Looking for further information about John Henry Dorsey and/or Margaret Ward who were supposedly
married in FEB 1865 in MaCoupin County. So far I have not found any record of their marriage.
Margaret's parent's were Peter Ward and Catherine White. John and Margaret moved to Champaign

great grandfather Chittington L. Starns, with wife Alvira (Almira)(Davis) Starns listed as the administrix
of his estate. I am wondering how I can go about getting a copy of this information...do you have
volunteers who do look up....or persons who will do a lookup and copy the information for me. I will

I would appreciate any information regarding Nancy Ann DUMAS, b. October 1852 in GA, d. aft. 1900,
who married Woodson Randall ROBBINS on August 12, 1874, in Macoupin Co. Woodson was born
February 1852 in Illinois and died August 06, 1918, in Litchfield, IL. Children that I know of are Flora
Bell, b. December 1877 (I don't believe she ever married), Leo B., b. June 1884, and an unknown
child. Census records for 1880 show the family in Honey Point, Macoupin Co.; the 1900 census shows
them in Litchfield.

Mefford. Sam Mefford and Janie Mefford lived in Gillespie, Macoupin cty in the 1900's and earlier. Then
they moved to Granite City, Madison County IL. I am looking for family of theirs. I am a family
member that just found some info. on them. Sam had a father by the name of William and mother
Rebecca, Sam was born in Illinois. Sam's son Harry L. Mefford was my grandfather and he had many
brothers and sisters. Sam is in the 1930 census without wife and I can't find out where they are

Searching for information on John L. Rogers who died in Nilwood in 1852 and his wife Nancy Dudgeon

Looking for information about a John Gresswell listed in the 1870 Census for Carlinsville. Wife was
MaryJane and daughter Evaline. My great grandfather, James Gresswell, came from England and

Family Bible says William Clark b 1764 in VA, d Mar 8 1841 in KY. Anyone know his ancestry? His son
John b Apr 8 1789 in southern KY. Married Mary Ann "Polly" Brooks Apr 11, 1820 in Hopkinsville KY.
Children were Mary Ann, William Henry, Catherine B, James B (my g-g- father), Martha, Margaret,

About 1863 Isabella Scott Lambert and some of her children (grown) moved to Macoupin Co and
Morgan Co. Her daughter, Martha Palina Lambert married Spencer Lloyd. Another daughter, Mary B
married David Mathews. A son, James A Lambert married Mary Jane Thrasher. Thomas C Lambert
married Mary Ann Palmer. Lucinda Jane Lambert married William H Thrasher. Most of these and others
moved to the Illinois areas of Waverly, Palmyra. Many of them are buried in the Pulliam Cemetery. If
you know of these families I would appreciate a response very much. Isabella was a sister to my gggf.
She was born in NC abt 1802 and died in IL about 1878.

Trying to locate any information on August Tunker, wife Elizabeth (Lizzie) and daughter, also Elizabeth
(Lizzie). They were from Prussia. Daughter married Joseph Grady and had children Charles, Lois,
Evelyn and one more whose name I can't remember.
